Colors

I have to admit I am fascinated with the physics (can I call it that?) of color. The way each color is a unique wavelength of light which our brains (via our eyes) interpret as a specific color. Then it gets really interesting the way these colors are related to each other in a mathematical way, and the balance of those mathematical relationships determine whether or not they “go together”.

There are lots of places on the web that discuss this in much depth.

Some people have an innate sense of this. They can look at color combinations and just know what looks right together and what doesn’t.

I like to use a color wheel for help. Here is the one I go to most often.

Today, as I’m setting up this website and blog, I figured I needed a permanent color scheme to follow.

I started with the color with Hex number 006295 (because I like this color of blue):

I entered the HEX number into the Color Wizard and now I have all sorts of color combinations to use that will keep my website colors compatible:

Now, to get busy and apply these to my pages. Obviously, matching colors is one of the first things to do when setting up a website!
